For his subject matter Lennaart Allan (1967) draws on old and great stories. In our modern age, where storytelling no longer plays an important role, he manages to present the myths from our collective memory very poignantly. He creates paintings with a dramatic stillness – a contradiction he manages to overcome effortlessly – using colour tones from a distant past, in a presentation that is as subtle as it is monumental.
